How CourseGrade grades work
Every course is scored from 0 to 10 across 10 weighted categories, then given a letter grade. The grade answers one question: how far is this course worth going out of your way to play?
- A+ (9.3-10), Pilgrimage
- Worth building a trip around. If you love golf, you play this once in your life wherever it is.
- A (8.6-9.2), Destination
- Worth a special trip. The kind of course you'd drive hours for and talk about afterward.
- A- (8.0-8.5), Detour
- Worth a real detour. If you're anywhere in the region, make the time.
- B+ (7.3-7.9), Standout
- Very good. Rises above the everyday round and is worth passing a few closer options to play.
- B (6.6-7.2), Go-to
- A genuinely good, well-kept course. In the area? Book it without hesitating.
- B- (6.0-6.5), Dependable
- Meets expectations. A fair, enjoyable round when it's convenient.
- C+ (5.3-5.9), Convenient
- A bit below average. Fine if it's nearby or cheap, nothing to go out of your way for.
- C (4.6-5.2), Filler
- Mediocre. Worth it only when it's the easy option and you just want to get out.
- C- (4.0-4.5), Last resort
- Noticeably weak. Play only when nothing better is within reach.
- D (3.0-3.9), Skip
- Poor condition or experience. Hard to recommend to anyone with another option.
- F (0-2.9), Avoid
- Bad enough that the round works against you. Save your money and your day.
Courses with fewer than 3 reviews show a provisional grade that can move as more golfers weigh in.
